VOYAGE - THE GAME
This is a visual experience that also demands a few inputs from the player. Player controls a spaceship in intend to search for a new celestial habitats as a last resort to save humanity. Player must explore possibilities and avoid dangers and obstacles in the vastness of the cosmos, and time is on no one’s side….
To begin with, in my opinion, Stencyl is not difficult to use but it is filled with inconvenience.Yet, it is a great tool in intend for individuals of interest to approach in understanding the game design and for prototyping. Moreover, as for my intention for my game, I aim to explore and express my perspective of incorporating the concept of time, that in complement to stimulate the collaboration of the player’s cognitive perspective of time and their emotional responses.
To me, the very conceptual understanding of time implied in games are rather more superficial. But, it is undoubtedly difficult to deny it, as time itself is a perceivalve metaphysical construct tangled to the agnostic reality. Therefore, I want to utilize such concept and incorporate in with game mechanism to create a potentially immersive visual-psychological experience. I want to draw emphasis on the nature of time as an experience of progression with its relative existence. The most difficult part is to establish the expression of differentiated perspective under both technical and conceptual difficulties. In the end, I concluded to the decision of focusing on one perspective that experiences the differentiated multi-dimensional event in contrast to the materialized and unified construct of convention.
